Yamaha unveil new motorcycle YZR-M1 on Monday (21.02.11) night. As expected, the Japanese manufacturer is using the "uniform" greatness Yamaha, namely blue, and no new sponsor to replace the Fiat.
Italian car company, Fiat, leaving Yamaha at the end of last season after Valentino Rossi made sure to leave and move to Ducati. After going through a series of efforts and negotiations, Yamaha failed to find a new sponsor so they decided to celebrate the 50th anniversary of his appearance in the arena of motor racing with the highlight in blue.
The launch of the new YZR-M1 was attended by the defending champion Jorge Lorenzo, Texas teammate, Ben Spies, and the Yamaha management. They took a chance on the evening before the test a second official MotoGP pre-season in 2011 which took place in Sepang, Malaysia, 22-24 February.
Even without a sponsor, Yamaha remains optimistic facing the new season. Lorenzo-Spies duo is expected to be competitive to face the Honda team is so dominant in the first test earlier this month, as well as Ducati, which is now occupied by Rossi, Nicky Hayden.
