2010 MotoGP world champion Jorge Lorenzo admitted that his teammate, Ben Spies, became a serious contender for the title world champion in 2011. According to Lorenzo, Spies performance with Tech 3 Yamaha satellite team in MotoGP debut at the arena last season has been alert to its rivals.

Regarding the team's overall condition, Lorenzo admitted no harmony between himself and the Spies. The Spaniard admitted that the situation now is much different from when he was a team mate to Valentino Rossi, who move to Ducati.
"Ben was a man of friendship, he was serious on the track like me, but between us there is no problem and I do not think we will have a (split) in the future," said the former double world champion 250cc class.
"Our situation is very good especially the two of us riders are fast. I think we're in the right direction. So, it's a good thing for us to establish good relationships, not only for us, but also to assist in developing a Yamaha motorcycle."
